Reducing acid secretion and relieving pain
It is indicated for the following conditions in TCM: stubborn phlegm that is sticky and difficult to expectorate, goiters, scrofula (lymph node tuberculosis), abdominal masses, stomach pain, and acid regurgitation.
Clinically, it is used in two forms when prepared as medicine:
Raw form: Preferred for resolving phlegm, dissipating blood stasis, softening hard lumps, and dispelling nodules.
Calcined form: Preferred for reducing acid secretion and relieving pain.
